Challenge accepted and exceeded
Wow! What an interesting and amusing train of events this has been to follow! Nando’s has accepted Santam’s challenge, and even added to it by offering the Johannesburg Children’s home more than just one meal, but a meal a month for a whole year! Well done to Santam for setting the challenge all in good nature, and well done to Nando’s for going the extra mile.

Recently Santam launched their TV commercial that had most of South-Africa grabbing for their PVR remotes to rewind and confirm that they are part of a zomby society. Personally I think it is a brilliant ad and swallows the audience with the clever production.
All good, until the infamous Nandos gets hold of it. Santam has been tar-and-feathered by numorous companies (previously the Talking Hands – Dial Direct) but never by a company that does not fall into their market sector.
Nandos’ spoof ad to Santam is brilliant, but Santam gets the payback award! I am sure Nandos will have a good one coming, but surely they need to attend to their delivery commitment first.

The latest trend in advertising is to make the consumer less aware of the fact that they are being sold something while being entertained. This used to be called subliminal advertising but has gained a much trendier moniker, product placement, since the former sounded like a carnival sideshow attraction.
The majority of the average viewer hates television ads mainly because they can be repetitive and annoying. This used to spark a frantic grope for the remote control and flicking to another channel, often with minor injuries sustained like stubbed toes or 1st degree burns from scalding hot soup in laps. The brand of a company is not just its logo… the brand refers to the character, nature and ethics of the entire company and if their brand is ‘perceived’ well by consumers, they will stand in good favor in the market.
Ever noticed how many different ‘brands’ you use while getting ready for your day? Have you ever stopped and noticed that pretty much every single item that you touch… is branded? Read more..
ThinkTank recently sponsored a party with Monster Energy Drink and Adidas Originals. The Warm Up Party was the first of many to come. The event was held in the centre of Johannesburg City on the 12 Art Decades Hotel’s rooftop.
The fan attendance was spectacular and we would like to see you next time round! By the way… The party is free!

Nandos has given South Africans some light on the Black Tuesday subject. Once again their marketing geniuses have made a mockery of the government assembly.
Throughout the years Nandos has been famous for their controversial ad campaigns which have struck nerves within our own government. Well done!
Thank you Nandos for making life just a bit more entertaining and keeping our hopes up. As for myself, I am on my way to buy a Marinated Peri-peri Chicken.
News24.com is all pimped out for Black Tuesday. Will the government remove our right to report on their mischief or will The People have their democratic right as promised in 1994? Personally we don’t care, politics have become more of a soap opera and keeps us entertained throughout the day.
